RENEWAL OF EXPIRED TYPE RATING:
If the type rating has expired, the applicant shall undergo a refresher training as determined by the ATO andcomplete a proficiency check in accordance with AMC 1 FCL.740(b)(1)
The objective of the refresher training is for the applicant to reach the level of proficiency necessary to safelyoperate the relevant type or class of aircraft. The amount of refresher training needed should be determined on a case-by- case basis by the ATO, as applicable, taking into account the following factors:
- the experience of the applicant;
- the amount of time elapsed since the privileges of the rating were last used;
- the complexity of the aircraft;
- whether the applicant has a current rating on another aircraft type or class; and
- where considered necessary, the performance of the applicant during a simulated proficiency check for the rating in an FSTD or an aircraft of the relevant type or
After having determined the needs of the applicant, the LMQ Training will develop an individual training programme based on the initial training for the rating, focusing on the aspects where the applicant has shown the greatest needs.
Refresher training will include theoretical knowledge instruction, as necessary, such as for type-specific system failures in complex aircraft.
After successful completion of the training, the LMQ Training will issue the applicant with a training completion certificate or another document specified by the competent authority, the training received, and a statement that the training has been successfully completed. The training completion certificate should be presented to the examiner prior to the proficiency check.
Following the successful renewal of the rating, the training completion certificate or the other document specified by the competent authority and the examiner report form should be submitted to the competent authority.
Taking into account the factors listed in above, the ATO, may also decide that the applicant already possesses the required level of proficiency and that no refresher training is necessary. In such a case, the certificate or other documental evidence will contain a respective statement including sufficient reasoning.
All the below courses are intended as minimum training and may be expanded on basis of the actual experience of the pilot.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the A320 and A330 Type Rating Renewal course is to train flight crews to operate the aircraft safely, efficiently, smoothly and according to approved Manuals and Procedures. Completion ensures that standards, set by relevant Authorities in view of Flight Crew Licensing, are met.
COURSE CONTENTS:
The course content reflects a synthetic standard as described in the A320 and A330 type specific training sillabi supplemented with the most common customer requirements.
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES:
All participating trainees shall be in possession of:
- EASA Flight crew license with A320 0r A330 Expired Type Rating;
- IR-ME-MP Expired or Current;
- Language Proficiency Level 4 or above.
RECORDING OF TRAINING AND CHECKING:
The Renewal training course is composed by a theoretical part, to be completed utilizing a CBT or with an instructor and a practical part to be completed in an FFS.
Elements of the theoretical knowledge syllabus may be adequately addressed by self-study, particularly when utilizing CBT.
Self-study can be done by the trainee even outside of the LMQ Training room, according to a self-managed schedule. At the end of the theoretical training program a knowledge test supervised by an instructor will be conducted and recorded.
