SFI/TRI REVALIDATION COURSE SUMMARY:

* For at least each alternate revalidation of a TRI certificate, holders shall pass the assessment of competence-in accordance with point FCL.935.
** Additionally, applicants shall have completed, on an FFS, the proficiency checks for the issue of the specific aircraft type ratings representing the types for which privileges are held.
If TRI/SFIs hold a certificate for more than one type of aircraft within the same category, the assessment of competence taken on one of those types of aircraft shall revalidate the TRI certificate for the other types held within the same category of aircraft, unless it is otherwise determined in the OSD.

For the refresher training for renewal of the TRI and SFI certificates:
- the LMQ Training will determine on a case-by-case basis the amount of refresher training needed, through an assessment of the candidate, taking into account the following factors:
- the experience of the applicant;
- the amount of time elapsed since the expiry of the TRI or SFI certificate; and
- the technical elements of the TRI or SFI training course, as determined by the assessment of thecandidate by the LMQ Training;
- once the LMQ Training has determined the needs of the applicant, it will develop an individual training programme that will be based on the content of the TRI or SFI training course and focus on the aspects where the applicant has the greatest

The objective of this course is to refresh the SFI/TRI knowledge of the “teaching and learning” module of instructor training course, CRM aspects related to training activity, highlight changes to Authority regulations and Operator procedures or documentation.
Theoretical Training: 6 Hrs, Instructor: TRI
The refresher training for revalidation of the TRI and SFI certificates will be provided as a seminar. The seminar will be held in the form of either one or more of the following: e-learning, two-way online meetings, face-to-face seminars. The content of the refresher seminar for revalidation will cover the following items:
- relevant changes to national or EU regulations;
- the role of the instructor;
- teaching and learning styles;
- observational skills;
- instructional techniques;
- briefing and debriefing skills;
- TEM;
- human performance and limitations;
- flight safety, prevention of incidents and accidents, including those specificto the ATO;
- significant changes in the content of the relevant part of the aviation system;
- legal aspects and enforcement procedures;
- developments in competency-based instruction;
- report writing; and
- any additional topics proposed by the competent

CERTIFICATION:
After successful completion of the seminar or refresher training, as applicable, the LMQ Training will:
- in case of a seminar, issue the applicant with a seminar completion certificate or another documentspecified by the competent authority, which describes the content of the seminar as well as a statement thatthe seminar was successfully completed; and
- in case of refresher training, issue the applicant with a training completion certificate or another documentspecified by the competent authority, which describes the evaluation and the training received, as well as astatement that the training was successfully completed; the training completion certificate should bepresented to the examiner prior to the assessment of competence.
