A320 TYPE RATING COURSE

This course is for pilots that wish to obtain an A320 Type Rating and it is conducted according to EASA Part-FCL Regulations. An A320 type rating can be conducted either as a Standard Transition A320 Type Rating or as a CCQ Course to the A320.
LMQ Training ATO is currently approved to deliver A320 Type Rating course and CCQ courses on the A330, A340, A380 to A320 aircraft.
This course trains pilots to obtain a Type Rating which allows the candidates to fly as a Captain or a Co-Pilot on the following types of aircraft of the Airbus Family:
The course is conducted exclusively by Instructor/Examiner Captains (TRI/TRE or SFI/SFE) with extensive experience in airlines on these aircraft and CBTA/ EBT qualified.
An applicant for the first type rating course for a multi-pilot aeroplane shall be a student pilot currently undergoing training on an MPL training course or comply with the following requirements :
According to FCL.720.A (b) “Experience requirements and prerequisites for the issue of class or type ratings – aeroplanes shall comply with the following experience requirements and prerequisites for the issue of the relevant rating:
(a) (SP Aeroplanes – not applicable)
(b) “Multi-pilot aeroplanes”: applicants for the issue of the first type rating course for a multi-pilot aeroplane may also be student pilots currently undergoing training on an MPL training course or comply with the following requirements:
(1) have at least 70 hours of flight experience as PIC in aeroplanes;
(2) hold or have held a multi-engine IR (A);
(3) have passed the ATPL (A) theoretical knowledge examinations in accordance with Annex 1 (Part-FCL);
(4) except when the type rating course is combined with an MCC course:
(i) hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of an MCC course in aeroplanes; or
(ii) hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of MCC in helicopters and have
more than 100 hours of flight experience as pilots of multi-pilot helicopters; or
(iii) have at least 500 hours as pilots of multi-pilot helicopters; or
(iv) have at least 500 hours as pilots in multi-pilot operations on single-pilot multi engine aeroplanes, in commercial air transport in accordance with the applicable air operations requirements; and
(5) have completed the training course specified in FCL.745.A. (Advanced UPRT course aeroplanes).
(c) Notwithstanding point (b), a Member State may issue a type rating with restricted privileges for a multi-pilot aeroplane that allows holders of such a rating to act as cruise relief co-pilots above Flight Level 200, provided that two other members of the crew have a type rating in accordance with point (b).
(d) according to the OSD, the exercise of the privileges of a type rating will be initially limited to flight under the supervision of an instructor. After completion of the Standard Transition Course, a minimum of 8 route sectors of LIFUS shall be performed, followed by a 2 route sector line check.

For pilots who are qualified in another fly-by-wire Airbus and are entitled to a CCQ course on the A320, they must be current, qualified (valid LPC) and experienced on the base aircraft.
Minimum experience on the base aircarft is 3 months and 150 hours on the base aircraft. Pilots should have a very good knowledge of the base aircraft systems prior to commencing a CCQ course, as the training prpgramme will only present the differences between their current aircraft type and the A320.
Pilots not current but holding a valid LPC on the base aircraft may be eligible for a CCQ via a refresher programme.
